Conference and Events Manager
The Conference and Events Manager will lead a small team whose work focuses primarily on events such as weddings and wedding receptions, Open House days, day and short-term residential conferences and various other private and commercial activities.
A high degree of client involvement, a substantial amount of administration and working closely with other Departments within the College is required to ensure that excellent standards of hospitality and service provision are maintained or exceeded.
Proved successful achievement, preferably in a similar role, is required together with excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly developed organizational skills, customer focus and commercial awareness.
This varied role, within the unique setting of Harlaxton Manor, offers scope and opportunity for a ‘can do’ team player with initiative and vision. As an indication, the salary will be in the region of £23,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

Travel and Custom Programs Assistant

Harlaxton College is seeking to appoint a Travel and Custom Programs Assistant to provide wide ranging administrative support to the Assistant Director for Travel and Custom Programs. Proved success in administrative work is essential, as are strong computer skills, first class organisational and communication abilities, enthusiasm and a commitment to excellent in client service. Involving working with U.S. colleagues, academic clients and students experience of student life and/or study abroad is desired, as is familiarity with an American working environment.

Lecturer in British Studies (Part-time)
Fixed term post covering sabbatical leave: January–April 2019
Harlaxton College, the British Study Abroad Centre of the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA, wishes to appoint a part-time lecturer to contribute to the teaching of its interdisciplinary, team-taught, British Studies programme. The successful applicant will hold, or will have recently submitted, a PhD in either British history or British literature and have experience of teaching at undergraduate level.
The Course: BRIT 282/382/382H: The British Experience from The Celts to the Present Day. This course is required of all students and is an interdisciplinary introduction to the broad cultural and historical developments within British society from the earliest times to the present.
This position is a fixed-term post covering sabbatical leave from 1 January to 30 April 2019. The Salary will be in the range £5,600 - £6,000.

Harlaxton College is seeking to recruit two house stewards to join the House Steward team. This team undertakes a wide range of duties to ensure that the Manor is presented to the highest of standards at all times, for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. This position is full-time (40 hours per week), working 5 days out of 7 including weekend and evening work. Flexibility concerning weekend and evening work, as required, is essential in this position.
Duties include general cleaning of public and student areas, including student accommodation and classrooms, setting up rooms for functions including weddings and student events held at the Manor. Lifting and moving of furniture and other equipment, working at height and setting up audio visual equipment are required. Rate of pay, above national minimum.

Catering Assistant (part-time)
Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (30 min break)
A catering assistant is required at Harlaxton Manor. Assisting a small catering team in the preparation and service of food for students, faculty, staff and special events (weddings, etc.).
The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, carry out their duties to the highest of standards, have a responsible and flexible approach to their work.
The position is part-time (11 hours per week), additional hours, including week days / nights may be available. Previous relevant experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
