British Studies Overview
British Studies offers a window through which to view your whole semester in the UK. There are three levels, but whichever you choose, the course will equip you with the skills to develop as a scholar and the knowledge to better appreciate your time in Britain.
The H282 program provides the basic model for British Studies. It is a 200 level, six credit course consisting of 28 lectures and seminars and three field trips.
H382 offers 300 level credit. In addition to the H282 program of lectures and seminars, students take four additional seminars throughout the semester and write a brief research paper on each of these.
H382 Honors offers honors credit. In addition to the H282 program of lectures and seminars, students take additional honors small-group seminars and individual tutorials. In place of the term paper, honors students complete an extended research project complete with plan and poster presentation.
