Make the most of your experience

“Make friends with kids from other schools, take risks, eat foods you never thought you would, and do things as the locals would.”

Why did you chose to study at Harlaxton?

I chose to study at Harlaxton becuase I had heard so many great things about it from friends who had gone, and Harlaxton looked like an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Did you have a life-changing experience during your time at Harlaxton?

My time at Harlaxton was an amazing experience. I had the opportunity to travel to different countries and experience the different cultures. I was also able learn more about the history of the country by taking the British Studies course by the amazing faculty and staff at Harlaxton. The best part of my experience was that I lived in a glorious manor the entire semester.

Based on your experience, what makes the Harlaxton program unique?

Harlaxton is a unique program that lets students live in an 19th century manor while learning and traveling the world. The faculty and staff are what help make the experience even better and truly make it a unique time abroad.

How has the manor become your second home?

The manor will always hold a special place in my heart and will be my home away from home. For an entire semester, Harlaxton was my home. It was the place I had meals, went to class, slept, worked out, planned for trips, hung out with friends, and the place I made so many memories I will cherish forever.

What advice do you have for any future Harlaxton students?

Advice for future Harlaxton students: take pictures and write down EVERYTHING (thoughts, feelings, details of the day). It’s a great way to look back and reminisce on your time spent at Harlaxton. Also, get to know the faculty and staff at Harlaxton. They are the best people to have a chat with and learn from.
