Fall 1999

Did you have any unique experiences during your time at Harlaxton?

While I did not do the Meet-a-Family program, a chance encounter with some Grantham locals at Walker's Wine Bar turned into my own experience. A couple of us had regular visits throughout the semester with our adopted British family.

Does Harlaxton still feel like a second home? Have you returned since studying abroad?

Harlaxton still does feel like a second home, and I did return in 2009.

Do you have a favorite trip from your time at Harlaxton?

My favorite trip from my time at Harlaxton was an impromptu trip to St. Andrews. I love golf and all the traditions that go with it. To see the birthplace of golf was amazing.

My time at Harlaxton was life changing. I come from a small town and had never really traveled before. My time taught me to be much more independent and really embrace and learn about different cultures.
